We are overjoyed to report on the accomplishments of the SISS Walkathon 2023, which took place on June 17 at the Seeheim Christian-Stock-Stadion. Over 150 people from our school community and beyond attended the event, which was planned in partnership with Oxfam. Alexander Kreissl, the mayor of Seeheim, joined us as we set off on a special journey to help underprivileged children.
Through our collaboration with Oxfam, SISS Walkathon 2023 sought to empower African children by giving them access to resources like education and healthcare. In order to highlight the significance of cultivating every child's potential, we established an ambitious fundraising target and received contributions from committed participants.
We appreciate the wholehearted participation of our walkers and runners, whose efforts made this event a success. Certificates of appreciation will be awarded to recognize their valuable contributions.
We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Scheuerpflug, our IB Coordinator, for his extraordinary generosity and willingness to put his face up for charity. Students had the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to throw a pie in Mr. Scheuerpflug's face. This light-hearted and fun-filled activity added an element of excitement and camaraderie to the Walkathon, while further supporting our fundraising efforts.
Although the SISS Walkathon has concluded, we encourage individuals who were unable to participate to explore ways to contribute through Oxfam's website. By donating or volunteering, you can continue to support this vital cause and help create brighter futures for children in need. We appreciate the help of everyone who contributed to this successful event that raised more than 7000 Euro for Oxfam. We can’t wait to see you next year!
