Festive mood before the winter break

20161216 163821bChristmas market 2016The SISS Primary hall and the first floor were filled with chitchat and laughter, with the aroma of “Kinderpunsch”, mulled wine, lentil soup, crepes and waffles, music, gifts, and twinkling lights.

Our traditional Christmas Market was a delight to the senses and offered all ingredients to get people in the festive mood.

Despite the unpleasant weather conditions the event was very well attended.

A big thank you to all the families who joined the event and to the children, parents, staff and supervision team, whose hard work and imagination ensured such a delightful evening.

Diwali Celebration in the “Lucky Lions” and “Beautiful Butterfly” class

In the last week, the “Lucky Lions” and “Beautiful Butterflies”classes at SISS Primary enjoyed a wonderful Diwali festival organised by a group of parents from the classes. After learning about the actual story of Diwali the children made colourful lanterns and watched a dance performance, performed by three children of the class, we had a magnificent Indian feast. We would like to thank all the parents for their hard work preparing this enjoyable morning for us. If you want to find out more about Diwali watch here

Running for the “Deutsches Laufabzeichen”

This is the second year that SISS Primary has attempted the “Deutsche Laufabzeichen”. Despite being a challenge that would scare many adults, the children were fantastic.

45 children ran continuously for 15 minutes while an amazing 107 girls and boys ran for 30 minutes without stopping or walking in between. The teachers are incredibly proud of the children’s achievements. You might enjoy some of their comments:

“When I finished, I thought my legs would fall off.”
“I had a stitch at 15 minutes, but kept going and did 30.”
“I thought it would be really hard but I feel really good to have done it.!
“I was so happy when I did 30 minutes.”
“The 30 was pretty long but I was happy when they did the countdown at the end.”
